Treatments

Veterinary physiotherapy is not only beneficial when your animal is suffering pain, discomfort or issues with their movement.  Many owners see it as essential to ensure their animal remains in optimum condition.

All animals undergoing treatment for rehabilitation to maintenance requirements will benefit from tailored treatment and health plans to optimise well being and performance. As often is the case, prevention is better than the cure.

  • What is vet physiotherapy?

Veterinary physiotherapy is purely science-based and takes a holistic approach to each patient by providing functional assessment following veterinary referral. Individual or a combination of physiotherapy techniques are often used alongside veterinary care to help treat or manage many musculoskeletal or neurological injuries and conditions. It can assist rehabilitation by reducing pain, improving movement and restoring normal muscle control and function or for performance development in competitive or working animals.

How do I know if my animal needs physiotherapy?

Sometimes the vet in care of your animal will recommend physio as part of its treatment for injury or after surgery. The benefits are not always so clearly visible. Many animals general health and wellbeing is greatly aided by ongoing maintenance therapy. The performance of competitive and working animals can also be greatly improved with a tailored programme.
